Our assessment, based on interviews, process analysis and performance measurements, showed: 1. customer service is the key to success in the business and must be improved 2. Inventory turn is too low 3. Supplier’s service, especially from Far East suppliers, is poor 4. Logistics’ productivity is too low.

The final results of our assessment were the definition of the guide lines to improve performance and an implementation plan of the actions suggested. We decided to divide the implementation plan into three different phases, each one having clear milestones, objectives and results. Phase 1: new management control system based on lean accounting principles and tools. Phase 2: new planning model and enhanced integration with suppliers. Phase 3: new layout and warehouse unification.
